Going
into this book I didn't have high expectations. I am personally not a
fan of the books in the Oprah book club but this book was just
great.This
is not an easy book to read. It includes things like rape,
pedophilia, and graphic sexual scenes. The story is very moving. I feel
the pain in the book. Also I enjoyed the writing style. I personally
could relate to the book because I am also African American. The story
seems realistic but there re somethings that I don't think could happen
in real life. The sad and graphic scenes seemed repetitive but I was
able to get through it.
